{"id":343,"date":"2021-06-09T08:39:28","date_gmt":"2021-06-08T20:39:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.stclairtech.tech\/grassrootsmechanicmovement\/?p=343"},"modified":"2021-06-09T08:39:29","modified_gmt":"2021-06-08T20:39:29","slug":"pie-4-8-nearly-ready-for-road-testing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.stclairtech.tech\/grassrootsmechanicmovement\/reactionless\/pie-4-8-nearly-ready-for-road-testing\/","title":{"rendered":"PIE 4.8 Nearly Ready for Road Testing:"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Over the last few weeks, a lot of progress has been made!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The PIE 4.8 CW &amp; CCW halves have been assembled and tested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Testing has been done with both running on separate motors at both similar and different speeds, with the conclusion that the halves need to be synchronized to be effective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A test cart has been constructed with smooth runners to see if the PIE and its wheels were pushing against the wheels\u2019 friction in any way which would indicate a stick-slip drive. Results show that the PIE 4.8 would cleanly self-propel off of the cart under it (which moves as easily as the PIE) without either pushing the cart back or pulling it along. There are those who say that \u201cit proves nothing\u201d, to which I say \u201cOK\u2026 I really don\u2019t care!
